About us

La Fiesta was founded by Antonio Valle, from the state of Michoacan, Mexico in October 1952 on Walton Avenue in Cleveland Ohio. For 24 years Mrs. Valle, with the help of her daughter Phyllis Lutz and other family members, ran the small storefront restaurant.

Then in 1976, Mrs. Valle passed the business on to her daughter Hortencia and in 1977 Toni relocated the restaurant to the Hilltop Plaza in Richmond Heights. For 14 years Toni and her children Renee Denise Lorraine and Jimmy continued the family tradition begun by her mother Antonio. That was until June of 1991 when a fire swept through the Hilltop Plaza taking with it La Fiesta. After a year-long hiatus, we re-opened right across the street on May 5, 1992, and for the last 27 years, La Fiesta served our authentic Mexican food from that cozy spot while gathering generations of friends along the way. Last June, when the building was sold to Richmond's Town Square Mall, La Fiesta was again forced to close its doors after 43 years in the area. After the attempts to relocate were stalled and most of the family retired, La Fiesta considered calling it quits.

But man, it’s hard to find good Margaritas and Tacos in Cleveland. Survived by its 4th generation, La Fiesta is coming back right down the road in beautiful Highland Heights. We take great pride in offering authentic Mexican dishes and sincerely hope you enjoy our time-tested recipes passed down since the 50s.
